He’s from Calgary. Probably was a Flames fan as a kid. Otherwise i’d agree.

Yeah, he's pretty much persona non grata. We need help on the left side of the blue line, but I'd be shocked if Columbus considers acquiring him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BRUINS_STAN_MAN</b></div><div>He's a legend.
At the beginning of the season I thought this was his last go for sure. I've kind of come around to the idea that he might come back for one more. I think the coaching change has a lot do with it. They seem to be having so much fun, playing looser, and having success.
Whether or not he's able to perform at a top level will remain to be seen. This is why I think they need to make a move for a center this off season. It hasn't been officially reported but Krejci isn't coming back. I guess he only wanted one year back here.
So bc Krejci is gone, you'd need to fill either 2c or slide zacha to 2c and fill the hole at 2lw. Hypothetically, you could get away with re-signing bertuzzi but if Bergeron leaves then you have a massive hole.</div></div>
I hope he's back, but let's say he isn't. Really curious what happens there. Centers are few and far between. With retention I wonder if they look at Nashville for Duchene/RJ. Sharks say hertl is untouchable.... but he'd be a great fit and they wanted him. Logan couture at retention? Still a decent player. Philly has Hayes, but I don't think he is a bruin type guy. Couturier on the other hand would be absolutely perfect. I really hope his career isn't over with all the injuries. If he's healthy that is such a great fit. Nick schmaltz might work, but he's a winger/center combo. The easy fix is to have Bergeron, but the conversation of the team moving forward without him has to be had imo.

He's a matchup nightmare being on a 3rd line in Boston but he's ineffective when he's had to elevate in the line up. If you don't mind a 5 million dollar 3rd line center you really can't do any better.

Maybe then, still I don't know if you'll get 2 picks for him. He's not a cheap contract for a 3rd line center.

Elias Lindholm will get a better off than this.
If Tyler bertuzzi was willing to sign for 5 x $5,500,000 he'd remain in Detroit he wants 7 x $7,000,000 on his next deal.
Detroit pass, Don't want or need Charlie Coyle. We've Marco Kasper coming up.

Considering the recent Kulikov for Mcginn/3rd swap I'd think taking Reilly along with a 3rd would be reasonable.

Do you really think Bergeron is back next season? This seems like his last go. Could he be back and be productive? Absolutely but considering he was close to retiring last off season I don't expect to see him back. Either way what a career for him.
Could see them moving swayman if they get a C back. I don't ever count out Boston, but if they lose their top 2 centers they will need one. If O'Reilly reaches FA I'd expect them to be interested. I'd have to do some research on other potential options.

Not remotely. Calgary has the best goalie prospect in the league playing for the Wranglers right now and Markstrom will almost certainly bounce back

Trade Machine Proposals

Thread:
stranger things have happened
No way BOS accepts that trade either. With a 27 goal season and no season with less than 16 goals (as a rookie), DeBrusk is better than Garland and significantly better Virtanen. Bjork has put up smaller numbers than Garland and Virtanen, but his development was delayed by a year because of a shoulder injury (which is now healed) and has .31 pts/gm compared to Virtanen's .34 pts/gm. Bjork still has a high ceiling. BOS doesn't improve by swapping out Bjork and DeBrusk for Garland and Virtanen, and there is absolutely no way they can afford to spend $3.3 mil on an AHL player in Sven Baertschi. As their core ages and their window of opportunity for a championship closes, BOS needs to free up cap space for a true top 6 winger, much less throw away $3.3 mil for absolutely nothing. Player for player, the Bruins become a worse team with this deal, they waste cap space they don't have, AND they lose a draft pick. This trade in no way makes sense for BOS.

Trade Machine Proposals

Thread:
Tying together some rumors Spitball
This proposal is interesting because of the rumors regarding a Chiasson for Bjork trade. I think that BOS was shopping Bjork because if they sign a free agent top six forward (after the Hall to Buffalo signing, BOS would probably be looking at either Dadonov or Hoffman), they would have no need for Bjork and would likely need to free up some cap space as well. However, Chiasson and Athanasiou are more expensive than Bjork and DeBrusk, and Chiasson and Athanasiou are arguably a worse duo. Bjork is better and much younger than Chiasson, and Bjork may even be better than Athanasiou due to Athanasiou's recent regression. DeBrusk is the best player in the trade, and a 3rd round pick doesn't do nearly enough to close the talent gap between the players involved. And even after this trade, BOS would still be in need of a quality top six winger to play with David Krejci, and they would have less cash to spend.
