Man, I like the idea of picking 10th and Nurse took a big step forward last year, but our top 4 should be pretty square with Edmundson-Pietrangelo and Dunn-Parayko. If we lose a big part of our RHD, we don't have any way to fill it, except maybe with a guy we can find with that 10oa pick, but that would be a few years away. I don't think STL can afford to mess with their D situation without it moving them back a few years - which wouldn't be the worst thing considering some of the guys we have on the way up, but I doubt it would happen.

Disagree, I think it's fair value. But as A_K points out, it probably doesn't make sense for St. Louis.

It’s either Nurse or Klefbom and I’d rather keep Klefbom
I’m also Okay with Playing Russel and Sekera in the 2L and 3L spots for next season

Yeah Agree with A_K it probably won’t happen. I’m only going off of what St Louis said and the deadline. They may be interested in moving a big peice but Parayko would be tough to give up

Trade Klefbomb, Nurse looks and plays likes some sort of championship defenceman, aka. Nick Leddy or Seth Jones type, while Klefbomb is better for a shutdown role like Larrson

St. Louis has no RHD depth for a top 4 position.

Adam Larsson and 10OA for Parayko is the start of the conversation where it makes sense for both teams.

Edmonton upgrades their RHD for 10OA, STL downgrades their RHD for 10OA. A left side defenseman would not make sense.

That depends if St Louis scouting likes a RHD available at 10 OV. Oilers are trying to win and compete next season. St Louis traded Paul Stastny at the deadline and have a great crop of forwards coming up

True, except the vast majority of upper tier (not Norris tier) defenseman do not really fill the top 4 role until age 21 or so.

And STL’s main core is in the 25-29 age group right now.

So unless STL was super sure they could pluck a drew Doughty at 10OA, they’re taking a substantial downgrade for 1-3 years, which would be fine except that really screws with the Schenn, Schwartz, Tarasenko, Pietrangelo, etc group.

Would totally be down if STL had even a wing and a prayer at RHD, but that cupboard is super empty right now, and I doubt any 10OA pick could slot in next season nor find any serviceable option who would not want more than 1-2 yrs of term.

I just don’t think it would be fair to the majority of the team to downgrade such an important position for 10OA.

Maybe a 3-way where a rhd heads to STL, idk, but I doubt Parayko goes without some type of replacement coming back.

Do you guys really think Rattie is a top line center, because he is not. The only way the blues make that nurse trade is if they have another package deal for a forward with that pick. They wont keep it.

No Rattie is not a first line player. But it’s hard not to see him get a chance at the start of next season to start on that line.
