Description
I'd like to see the team go for some of these players for next season.....
We bring in speedier wingers with a shoot first mentality in Katchouk and/or Buchnevich....They're both young so it's a gamble.
Jason Zucker brings scoring and speed.
Faksa is a very good 3rd line C.

Nyr say no. Buch will be a top 6 forward by next year he put up 43 points with even playing on the 4th line in 73, a good chunk because of Vignaults favoritism towards veterans. Unless you are offering a good defensive prospect that is nhl ready with top 4 potential nyr pass easily.

Claude Giroux is a left wing, how come everyone puts him on the right side?

Also, you realize you have 6 LH defensemen in, not a lot of balance on the blue line there

The compensation offered these teams is totally bogus. The guys listed are just trade targets I would like to see Hextall attempt to go for. Buchnevich could be a long shot, but NYR is probably rebuilding so they'll want picks and prospects for him....same with TB....Katchouk will probably require future picks because TBY is talent loaded at this point in time.

it really doesn't matter which wing you place him on. He played RW in the AHL and junior at times and even internationally. And if you watched the Flyers play this year you'd see him and Coots actually do a ton of switching in their responsibilities so I wouldn't get too worked up about which side the wingers are on. The main issue is the values for these trades are all heavily favoring the Flyers.

So you think because he played RW in the AHL and juniors over a decade ago, that it "doesn't really matter" which one he is slotted on? Coots is a center, what does anything have to do with them switching? It actually is a big deal which side the wingers are on because Giroux just had a career year "excluvisely" slotted on the left side the entire year.

It does really matter which wing they are slotted in though, like a lot.

lol if you think it matters like it's life and death then idk what to tell you. I'm saying he's played more RW over his career then LW so to say a top tier player like him couldn't switch is just a ridiculous statement. The only time handedness matters to these guys at this level is in the dzone exits and offensive zone entries. And switching im saying matters because he didn't exclusively just play wing all year like you said. There aren't imaginary lines draw down the ice where the forward isn't allowed to cross into the center or right wing. Come on dude. You are smarter then that.

where are they going to get a righty from? Everyone they drafted was a left shot? It's working for Vegas. it's a nice thing to have which is why i'd keep Gudas for now until Myers is ready but there are only so many capable guys to go around I'd personally rather have the best players just playing

i didn't say it was life and death, what does life and death have to do with anything. You really want to interchange wings with a guy who just had a CAREER YEAR slotted specifically on the left side? Ok, that's your prerogative, guess I am happy your not making the lineup each and every night. And to say he has played RW more in his career because he played parts of 2/3 seasons on the right side before being moved to center is ambiguous. He has more points playing on the left wing in one season than he ever did at RW. His right handed shot from the left side is lethal and a huge advantage he has, another reason why he plays the half wall on the left side, and consistently is always near the top of the league in PP points.

What team were you watching, when was he not on the left wing? I feel like you have no idea what you're talking about because the things you're saying make no sense. Thank you for illustrating to me there aren't imaginary lines drawn on the ice, was that like trying to make fun of me or something? Terrible attempt. You clearly cannot say what players prefer or don't prefer when talking about the side of the ice they are on, because majority of them do, but keep talking about stuff you literally have no clue about.

Well they have Gudas now, and Myers coming up, so that's a start. You're right, it won't be easy, but I know how much easier it is for a defensemen when they are on their dominant side and can keep a puck in on their forehand instead of trying to make a quick play on their backhand. Although I loooove when Ghost does it with relative ease.

lol dude im telling you i haven't missed a Flyers game in who knows how long. Just because the little graphic on the screen during pregame shows him on the LW doesn't mean he can't move anywhere else on the ice except for the left side. Obviously you are the one who hasn't paid attention much if you think he only plays the left side of the ice. And to bring up PP in relation to 5v5 is pointless it's a completely different setup and attack mentality. Look at his shot locations over the course of the season - he took more shots from the center to right side of the ice then he did the left at 5v5. The reason for that is like i said handedness really only matter at certain times. Since he's a playmaker and passer first it makes sense that he prefers to come down the ice and attack from the right side since it's his strong side instead of making a backhand pass from the off wing. It's not rocket science dude I'm just telling you that the comments complaining about why he is on the right or left don't matter as much as you obviously think. And if you think him playing on the left side was the reason behind his career year then all i have to say is correlation does not imply causation - it's an invalid argument. There are so many other factors other then just magically moving to "left wing" such as playing with Couturier, less defensive responsibility, etc.

haha and why do you make my argument when it comes to defense that im explaining to you about forwards. It's the same concept. But yes i know what you mean and we really need to look for a solid top-4 option that is a right shot even though Ghost and even Sanheim are pretty good over there. I'm saying the above trade he traded Gudas who i don't think should be moved right now honestly. I think that the future is probably set with Provorov/Sanheim on the left and Ghost/Myers on the right. i can live with it and it would be nice to have perfect balance but I don't think we should just look to forece a RHD on the roster just for the sake of having one if he's not better then the dmen we have now if that makes sense.
