I think you just don't know the players going to Calgary. Fischer and C.Perlini were both first round picks who had good years. And B.Merkley is a good prospect who was a first round pick. Plus the draft picks it's a very fair trade. Tkachuk has a big name and was born in Arizona so it works. Detroit might move AA and to get Pierre-Olivier Joseph who was the 23rd overall pick last draft is a good deal. The Wings need to find that number one dman so getting a prospect like that is huge. Plus they get Hamilton and a 3rd.

Fair comment...but when you use a high draft pick...you're hoping they turn into a player like Tkachuk. Trading him in for 2-3 lottery tickets isn't a good risk.

At the end of the day I would rather have JT then Matthews. So this move loads the Leafs with young talent and you get JT to replace Matthews. This team is pretty sickk so if you don't like it it's because you are just in love with Matthews. Now obviously this most likely won't happen. Just having fun on here.

Go look at that stats and you will see Tkachuk didn't have that many more goals then these guys.

Tkachuk is still younger and has MUCH more value Saying Fischer and Perlini were first rounders and can net Tkachuk is like me saying Scherbak, Juulsen Poehling and some 2nds can net Tkachuk but NO

The AA trade is a rip on ARI POJ is worth more. And then a 3rd? Hamilton is worth nothing tho

Go look at the stars and you will see that 49 points as a 20-year-old in 68 games is better than your assets

2 players neting 30 points is nothing special. Byron, danault can net 30 points

Leafs fans would be happy when they watch the team play and when they actually win a Cup. Or a playoff series.

I don't think a bust a 14 point dman a bust and a few 2nd liners will impact them better than Matthews. See this trade happen and all hell will break lose

      Really?

Go watch the games and see what he means to the Flames...then go have a look at the stats.

Tkachuk is 1-2 years younger and has put up more NHL point than all three players combined.

You wanna know why the deals aren't fair?

Because they're so off a Montreal fan is arguing on behalf of the Leafs and a Leaf fan is arguing on behalf of the Flames

None of us will ever score in the NHL

Do you watch hockey Matthews doesn't sit in the crease

The point was that he isn’t really a playmaker

I’ll agree with you on 2/3. Laine is a sniper, and Patches is a sniper when he’s not bad at hockey, but vorachek is definitely a playmaker

Ya Stamkos would be better on the wing. He's bad 5 on 5 and scores a lot of his goals on the powerplay. And Malkin is a much more talented player.
