Domi or Hammer alone is worth more than that package. Kovalchuk is looking for more, and Domi isn’t signing for that lowball of an offer. You’re overpaying De Haan as well

Take the Car 3rd out of Arizona trade and it's fair, Kolvalchuk signs for ~ 1.5-2 mill more than that I think

What? ARI giving up a 2nd pair dman and a young top 6 winger for two 3rd liners. Not even close to fair.

Rutherford: "Hi, we're interested in Hjalmarsson and Domi. Are those guys available?"
Chayka: "Yes, they are, for the right price."
Rutherford: "Maybe we could get them both in the same deal?"
Chayka: "I don't know, what are you offering?"
Rutherford: "Both of them for Sheary, Hagelin, and a 5th?"
Chayka then hangs up the phone without even answering.

Sheary = Domi and then Hags, 3rd, 5th almost equals Hjalmarsson, pens would have to add something minor, maybe change the 3rd to a 2nd

Domi > Sheary by a looooong shot. Domi is a legit top 6 (probably top line) player. Sheary is a just a 3rd liner that got carried by Crosby. Domi can actually carry his own line.

Sheary averaged 41 points per season at a 82 game average the last 3 years. His most used teammates in that time? Crosby and Hornqvist for 459 minutes at 5v5.

Domi averaged 50 points per season at 82 game average the last 3 years. His most used teammates in that time? Hanzal and Duclair for 246 minutes at 5v5.

So Domi has done more with less. Imagine him with Crosby, he'd his 70+ points easy. Sheary with Hanzal (who isn't there anymore) maybe does 30 points.
