Description
trades to add picks and hopefully add more scoring and quality players down the line. I don't believe they want to resign nyquist or think AA will be a top 6 forward on a good team. Its hard to add quality since we don't have a lot to move. Believe in the draft picks approach. Bernier can be an acceptable stop gap to the next goalie.

It'll cost more than 3rd + 1yr of an underachieving Nyquist to get EDM to move back 20+ spots in the draft

Larkin and Mantha were great draft picks for the Wings for where they were drafting. But if you look at the draft history the past 10 years or so it's been pretty bad. The last two years are still pretty much question marks, it's way too early to tell. But the 2015 draft is looking bad right now. Evgeny Svechnikov was the wrong pick. And from 2005 to 2012 the drafting was terrible. So 9 bad drafts, two good ones and two that are question marks. Not good and I have zero hope this rebuild will work because there drafting has been bad overall under Ken Holland.

Ignore Gmhockey he's proven in other posts/comments he's just a hater & knows little about hockey...this isn't that bad overall good intentions..the other guy is right we likely have to spice up oilers trade a bit either retaining $ on Gus &/or including another piece like a Jensen or mid rd pick or prospect like sadoway ....I don't c wings trading AA in division if they can avoid it..& it have to be a top of rd 2 pick ..cuz his potential & elite speed could bite us if traded ..I get feeling AA is a pkg piece for either a 1st rd pick (not necessarily this draft) or for elite D man established or young like hanafin or trouba TYPE... When making trades remember wings WANT STUD D & C ..I don't see wings going after Stafford ..need those spots for our kids .prob cheaper option than bernier too..but like your passion & vision in general.. Well played.. Cheers..again ignore gmhockey you'll be better for it & less annoyed

Detroit won't trade AA for a 2nd round pick. He's still young and has some high end offensive upside. It would make no sense to sell him off that cheap at this point.
