Sabres fan here

It would be kinda crazy to make all that happen,
but those trades are pretty close to reasonable imo
If u can pull those off,
then it could be possible for u guys to lure JT

If Allen could get it together,
u guys could be legit contenders with that lineup

PS.
If u didn’t get JT, am i correct in assuming you’d offer up a package for O’Reilly that’s similar to what u gave up for Hoffman & Johnson?

I'd much rather give up Thompson than Kostin. I don't like Thompson's game.

If it's up to me, no offer for O'Reilly. While he's an upgrade over the current roster, he's not much of an upgrade over when we signed Stastny at the beginning of his last contract. And 5 years at 7.5 is a long commitment to someone who is 28 now. Plus what looks to be attitude issues when things arent going his way, does not seem like a player i want.

Don't think the Tampa trade will work. The lightening are only trading Johnson for cap space reasons and because he has a NTC kick in on July 1st. They aren't taking on 3.8/year (1.2 in savings) to take on a player that doesn't fill a need that also has a NTC that would make it difficult to move if they felt the need to. I also think they are looking for some young D help, so Schmaltz or Walman may be enticing for them depending how they would view them.

The Hoffman deal sounds great from the blues perspective, but I don't know if Ottawa would do it. Sobotka I assume is a filler and is there for our cap reasons, Barbashev is a decent prospect but doesn't hold much value, Fabbri is a question mark until he proves otherwise, but a potentially cheap top6 forward is going to be attractive to a gm like Dorian, and the 2nd isn't very high currency for a scored like hoffman. I think at minimum we would have to bump Barbashev up to Thompson or the 2nd to a 1st (2019 in this case since we traded Tampa our 2018).

If we didn't end up trading Bergy to Tampa, I would look at switching him and Sobotka and seeing if he would wave, as Ottawa seemed to be interested in him previously. And then use Sobotka as an extra trade chip for a mid round pick to a different team.

Thank you! I don't see why nearly every trade proposed on here has him included as part of the deal. Unless it blows Armstrong away, he's one of the 4 "untouchables."

So if u don’t get Tavares,
what do u think the backup plan at Center is for u guys?

Idk that Johnson will be available?
Plus, they moved him to the wing for a reason

Honestly, Blues would be better off either resigning Stastny for a year or two until Thomas is ready to take the reigns if Tavares falls flat. Right now, i'm not betting on the Blues signing Tavares. Nor do i think Tyler Johnson is necessarily the key to filling the void. I think a guy like JT Miller could be a solid number 2. Not sure if Tampa wants to part with him though. He took over center duties for that line much of the playoffs, and his type of style would be perfect for western conference.
