You have to upgrade the D someway somehow.

No way the Pens roll with same D core as last year. Letang needs lower minutes so you have to offset it with another $3-4M D man.

Domi is going to cost more to acquire than SHeary and a 3rd.

Probably, I don't think it would be much more. Sheary is a proven scorer and Domi is coming off a year he scored 9 goals.

Also, Letang will be playing 20 plus minutes a night next year without a doubt. Upgrading D wont be easy to do in my scenario where the cap only goes up to 78 mil

If the Penguins should overpay for Domi, Arizona will overpay for Sheary and a third-round pick.

Letang is either being traded for the Penguins to have cap space to improve the roster, or he will be playing as a second defensive pairing with less minutes and less opportunities for mistakes.

Any credibility you may have had has now vanished.

The idea of keeping Letang and not improving is funny and delusional. If you want to keep Letang around and lose games, send the Penguins a notice of intent to succeed Jim Rutherford as general manager and ideas to fail.

Lol that makes no sense. no team is going to over pay for Sheary. Why would you think Arizona would over pay for him or covet him more than Domi? Are you the president of Sheary's fan club?

Are you a holdover or an evil clone of Don Maloney?

    Ok lol,

For the members of the Letang bandwagon, who is hoping for continued turnovers, continued giveaways, camping out in the defense zone floating and coasting aimlessly on the ice, and earning a golden parachute?

that's laughable. He was a 3rd line guy for AZ last year. That should say a lot. A team with no talent and you were on the 3rd line. But you think he's going to get a ton. I don't see that at all.

The only real question is if Sheary is actually worth anything. But lets not pretend that Domi is expensive to get. I don't think that is true at all.

Domi and Sheary are the problem.
They are both 5 foot nothing. Once a team gets physical watch out. The question is do the pens want to bring in another 5 foot nothing of a player once the get rid of one, or do they want to bring in a LW with some size. My answer to that is look for a larger player to come into the left wing.

if chad R. is our 3rd line pairing prepare for an early playoff exit now.

I don't even think it's the 1st line pairing that is the real issue. That second line pairing. Slow mo matta and shultz isn't exactly what I call a shut down pairing. If they don't find someone decent to put next to O then that pairing is going to suck too. O is a decent defense man, but he can't carry the person next to him on his coat tails
