take out Klefbom and Beleskey, no need for either of them to be included. switch the 3rd to one of NYR's late 1st and then the trade seems more even

No i just understand that cap space is also a trade commodity.... which NYR is providing to both teams in both trades.

Well "not so fast" thats bc of your GM.... if the League didnt hand you McDavid.... edmonton wpuld still be an enormous joke....just go ahead and stay on track for another season without playoffs.... haha
Great franchise there.... well for last 10 years. Great decisions and results.
AND thats with NHL giving you 4 #1 overall picks...

No lie.... love Oil fans acting like their GM has a clue....
They have not had a clue for like 20 years.
The league steps in Hands you McDavid..., 3 other #1 also...
Great leadership and planning there...
Both of the trades are realisticly fair and more like Real deals.
Sorry kids but cap space is a commodity and Edmonton needs it badly....
Oh Klefbloom better than Kreider???? Hahaha

Ya but teams aren’t going to give you premium assets to free it. Edmonton isn’t giving you two younger and better players and 10OA for it. Dallas also doesn’t need cap relief so why would they trade away two prospect pieces.

The Edmonton deal is way off value from their perspective. Let's just assume right off the top that Lucic + 10 overall = Beleskey + 70 overall (it doesn't, but for the purpose of the breakdown, it does).

We are then left with this as components of the deal : Chris Kreider for Jesse Puljujarvi and Anthony DeAngelo for Oscar Klefbom. Let's further assume that Kreider is worth more than Puljujarvi (again, he is not). Klefbom is worth vastly more than DeAngelo, vastly more.

So with this simple breakdown utilizing assumptions on values that are false, Edmonton still looses value in the trade. Adjust accordingly for the value, Edmonton looses by a large margin.

Also, if you don't believe in the art of tanking, then you need to understand that there are other models that teams can use to get generational type talent.
