Loading up on LHD Brodin and Hickey which is a Leafs strength. And Hickey at 4m, no thanks. Minni seems to giving up too much good term to make that trade

I'm not interested from the Wild PoV.
-I'd much rather have Brodin than Gardiner on the Wild. The contract terms really
-I'm not sure of Bracco having much of a NHL future, and the Wild already have way too many small wings in the AHL.
-Kapanen is still somewhat interesting, and the Wild do need RHS FWDs; but I'd rather not send the only RHS FWD currently on the team as the cost to get him.

Tor doesn't have much I'm really interested in getting outside of the big-3 and Kadri. and they really don't have enough to get any of those guys.

No interest in bringing JVR back, regardless of his price tag. With Calder Cup MVP Andreas Johnsson now more than ready for full time NHL duty, JVR would block his spot. As for your Wild-Leafs deal, I'd have no interest. Since this team plays a heavy transitional speed game, Kapanen's value means more to Toronto than it probably would in a trade. A similar package as you've put together for Minnesota could probably, thereabouts, net the Leafs Noah Hanifan from Carolina because of how desperate Carolina is for offense.

If the leafs don't bring JVR back (which I don't think they do)...and they let the young guys naturally rise into higher spots in the lineup...I think there will be a bit of a regression this year, offensively.

That's not to say I think they should re-sign him...I don't...but giving more playing time to Kapanen and Johnsson and expecting them to produce at JVR's level in unfair to them. Hopefully all the young players progress (and stay healthy) to make up for the lost production but I'm anticipating scoring to be a little harder to come by next season.
