Why would you resign Goulbourne?

By simply letting Mrázek walk you get a 3rd back from Detroit. By moving him for a 4th & 7th you negate that pick from Detroit. Why would you move him for a 4th & 7th when you get a 3rd for doing nothing?

Because with the amount of forward prospects coming from juniors to the Phantoms next season, they are going to have 4 extra forwards on the roster than they can use. Maybe 1 or 2 of the makes the Flyers, but still.

Regardless of all of that...he's not really good enough to warrant a roster spot anyway.

The 3rd round pick is not Detroit's by default...the Flyers own it right now and only give it up if they qualify Mrazek (which they would not do if they traded him).

He could be a extra forward with philly and he could be a great 4 liner

No, no he can't. He was getting scratched from ECHL games late in the year. He's not a good player.

If they move him for assets the clause activates and Detroit would get the 3rd.

Can we please stop signing 1000 UFAs! We need roster spots for the upcoming kids!

Where do you see that? All that's ever been reported is that the pick conveys to DET if PHI resign him, and doesn't if they don't. Nothing anywhere says anything about trading him conveys it.

He played 9 games as a call up after a 10 game losing streak, and averaged 5:35 of ice time per game. He's barely an AHL 4th liner, let alone an NHL one.

With guys like Vechionne, Martel, Leier, Vorobyev, Aube-Kubel, etc. it is unlikely Tyrell will get another call-up

Yeah, his 5 minutes of ice time and zero points really helped them win

That was his first shift of his 1st game...he was understandably amped up. He did nothing after that.

They won that game 6-3. Even without the goal he helped on, it's still a win.
