That's what I thought too...don't see them getting a better offer than that. Of course, I think Chicago only does that if they really feel good about Panarin re-signing.

His NMC expires at the end of the month, don't see why he would invoke it right before it's set to expire.

I've suspected all along it was Bowmans plan to re-sign Panarin in the summer of 2019..... I bet Bowman told Panarin, "look - we're bringing you back as a UFA on a long-term deal, just give me a couple of years to make cap space to make you a career Blackhawk"....

Now maybe Panarin will be back this summer which would be great....

I would hate to give up the 8th overall pick but Panarin is one of few players I would trade the pick for......... 8th overall & Hossa for Panarin...... I would try Anisimov, 27th overall, Forsling & 2019 second round pick for Panarin .... I would try that first....
