Simmonds on the block?
1 year rental and a pick for 3 young guys. Maybe add something in if Simmonds signs an extension?
There is definitely room for a guy like Simmonds in CGY top 6-9 on the right side.

I like the trade if I'm Philly, but if I were Calgary I'd hold on to Dube.

I love the Simmonds trade idea, just not this one. For one thing, I don't think you're adding enough assets - or at least not adding the right ones. They want players now, not players of the future. Also, I feel like CGY would have to add the 2nd Rd Pick, not Philly.

Also, I agree on holding onto Dubé - CGY doesn't have many great centerman prospects.

I think you'd have to do something like Brodie, Bennet, & Top Prospect & mid-Rd pick for Simmonds.

I would argue the opposite. A one year rental isn't worth three players, so there would need to be more from Philly's end or less from the Flames end. This is just a rental.

Flyers don't need anything you are sending.

Thanks for feedback - I read on TSN that "Simmonds is on the Block". In the article it says Hextall, during an interview, noted that cap space was a factor and that there was some young guys in need of new contracts (Provorov and Konecny specifically mentioned). The article noted Simmonds name was not mentioned when Hextall discussed future key signings leading to speculation that Simmonds on the block. While I agree Philly would most likely be interested in adding a top player via free agency and trade - that addition doesn't necessarily have to come from trading away Simmonds. My offer of Dube, (or another FWD prospect like Mangiapane or Foo), Kylington, and Bennett, gives them young, decent, controllable assets in return for a rental. If Simmonds had more term - I agree he could fetch more, but as a one year rental I think my offer is more than fair. Each of the 3 prospects could likely get late 1sts or 2nds for sure and are close to NHL. As I mentioned in the description - CGY could add a pick on the condition of an extension. Philly frees up cap space for free agent splash and stocks some prospects! CGY gets the right-shot RW they need and a pick that they need.

All these articles claiming he is on the block is because of some guy in MIN writing an article saying MIN could target Simmonds. Nobody from PHI has said he is on the block or that they are actively shopping him. Philly has no cap issues whatsoever going forward at this time. Even if we overpay Konency, Provy and Patrick in the next 2 years we are still fine as long as we don't sign a $10 mil player.

As for the return you gave, we have no need for these players. We have one of the deepest prospect pools in the league and none of these guys are impact players.

I think this would be a serious overpayment. Brodie should fetch a 1st, 2nd and late pick - or a 1st and a couple 3rds at least! Top 4 D-men are more valuable than rental wingers. Bennett, despite slow development, would still get late 1st or 2nd, by 'top prospect' I assume you mean a 1st rounder, and a mid round pick . . . for one year of Simmonds. That is a lot of assets for a rental.
In my opinion, Brodie alone would be an overpayment!
