Description
Arizona manages to trade up in the draft getting Montreal's 10th pick for Arizona's 22nd (Via NYR) pick and some prospect. The hockey Gods finally show some pity on Canucks fans and the Canucks win the lotto. Canucks draft Matthews and instantly trade him to Arizona for the 8th and 10th overall picks, taking Juolevi and Dubois and a 2nd rounder. Miller gets tired of the fans in VAN and goes back to BUF where they still love him. Gudbranson wants more than FLA is willing to pay, so they take on Sbisa's contract and Canucks sweeten the deal with a couple of picks. Leaves lots of salary cap room for Burrows and Higgins and Weber to be veteran spare parts for when the Canucks get their next rash of injuries. Tryamkin and Pedan split time being mentored by Hamhuis on the 3rd pairing. Canucks pay someone to take Linden Vey.

Canucks stay healthy, have a solid top 4 defence, and get secondary scoring from Sutter, Virtanen, Horvat and Rodin. Voila, back in the playoff picture, just in time for Boeser, Demko, Juolevi, Dubois to replace retirees in 18-19 season.

Buffalo doesn't want Miller back! Especially for one of our top goalies in the system and a 3rd rounder.

Yes, Buffalo fans love Miller....but don't want him playing net for them. Toronto fans love Johnny Bower, but glad at the age of 90 he is enjoying life and not tending net for the Leafs. Ridiculous trade for Gudbranson, sorry Canucks fans you have Sbisa. If Arizona has the eighth pick, what is the trade (to the team that has the # 1 pick) to get Matthews?

Have to agree that we are stuck with Sbisa.
