I like a lot of what you did here, I would have tried to move Korpse for a pick or prospect and not retain his salary as well as move Letestu and Hendricks to free up some salary cap.

I would keep Sekera in the 2LD spot and have signed a vet RHD for the 3RHD, like a Jamie McBain or a Zach Redmond who can platoon with Gryba, who I am not sold on, given his inability to move the puck very well. I would look at carrying 8 D and take Pardy back as the 4LD, Darnell needs more time to brew in the AHL.

I don't think Brossoit is ready to be the back-up, but would look at Anti Raanta or even Justin Pogge on value contracts.

Grevious: Justin Pogge? That's a first. The trades are fair, maybe an overpayment for Faulk, but the Oilers have centres and the Canes could use a centre. Don't think the CBJ would do the deal though, believe they love Jenner as their long term captain.

Disagree about the overpayment for Faulk. He's gonna be a top 10 defenseman, he would command a better package than that.

I don't think it's an overpayment but I also think it would be enough to get the deal done. Reinhart has potential to be a top 4. Yeah I just came up with the Blue Jackets deal out of the blue I just know there will be lots of change in Columbus this offseason

Faulk is a top10 D league wide, shoots right handed, and has one of the best contracts in the league. And at age 24, he's going to be good for a long time. It would take a massive overpayment for CAR to move him. McDavid is probably the only thing that gets them to consider trading Faulk to EDM.

Of course EDM would refuse that trade. But the point is, for a guy like Faulk with his skill and contract situation in a cap world, he is one of the most valuable trade assets in the NHL. And the only reason CAR would be open to trading Faulk is to improve their team. Trading Faulk for lesser pieces does not do that for them.

Give them Crosby, Karlsson and the ghost of Rocket Richard and they'll still finish bottom 5 LOL... and overpayment for Faulk
