Description
I m a Habs fan and I hate the habs fans:
Zadina was not doing that good on the combine
He was not the solution for MTL.
MTL fans wanted a Center .They got one they get mad.
They didn t even give a chance to kotkaniemi to prove himself.
Joe Veleno is not good louis leblanc in my opinion.People saying draft Zadina and get Veleno in a trade.They even pick his teamate before him.
Dahlin and Svechnikov are the only ones that didn t need to much of thinking.
Want to say congrats to Ottawa fans and NYI fans for their picks (Tkachuk was my option at 3rd for MTL but Kotkaniemi was my 2nd option)

So far it's only one Habs fan on here who's upset, but yeah. I don't undestand how someone can be mad when MTL finally gets a legitimate Center prospect.

Yes he did play on the wing as a 17 year old in a mens pro league. So did Barkov, and look where he is.

coaches dont trust younger players at c, so tahts why he played wing. he did play some games at C. this guys game is incredibly close to barkovs and he's gonna be a first line center. also he was the bpa. if zadina was the bpa, ott or even the coyotes would have taken him. be excited about drafting a future number 1 center. u complain about it for years and years and when we draft one, u complain again. he's no chucky. chukcys own coach in jr said that he wont be a center in the nhl if he doesnt improve his defensive game. and he was totally right. but kotky is diff. his own coach says he;s a 200ft player. watch his highlights and compare it to barkovs or even kopitars. we got a hell of a player

Only thing about Kotkaniemi is his lackluster skating and lack of being a threat in carrying the puck into the offensive zone by himself.

I'm not saying that he's not a threat. He has good vision and playmaking abilities, it's just entering the zone off the rush specifically which he needs to work on. His skating won't hurt him, but it won't make him stand out and is a reason for the weakness that I mentioned above. Overall, it's still not a bad pick in my eyes, a bit of a stretch but not nearly as big as Arizona's.
