Description
I know I'll catch flack for this, as Draisaitl is highly-valued. However, it frees up salary from Edmonton, addresses LW issues for the Oilers, and adds a mobile defenseman to their roster.

We would have to add Lindgren and a guy like Lehkonen… It would be nice for MTL… If we don't have a bad year next season… We could end-up like Calgary.

This is heavily unbalanced. Reilly doesn't bring much value and is yet to prove that he is a legitimate NHL defenseman. Despite Lucic's poor performance last year he still has some value and is not just a buyout throwaway player. Pacioretty's trade value is low ATM and you are trading him for a top 10 centreman. Do better.

This is for fun man, not paid to do this. Lucic has a hard time following, he's gotten slow.

That being said, Pacioretty's under 30, has several seasons over 30 goals, and makes 4.5 for 1 more year.

Look at the last 5 seasons for left wingers: Only Ovechkin, Marchand (just 1 more) and Benn have more goals. Only the same 3 guys plus Taylor Hall have more points. All of that with no real centers.

Yup, and last season he had one of the worst seasons of his career, and a season ending knee injury.

If I said "Hey, Ryan Kesler is worth the moon, he is a consistent 20+ goal scorer and one of the best 2 way forwards in the game for the past 9+ seasons!" You'd laugh at me and say "he had a horrible season last year and had hip surgery". This is pretty similar.

If trading Drai for Patches solves their LW problem, why not just move Drai to LW...
