      WOW! Leafs say no.

Also, Vesey is most likely heading to Boston unfortunately Confused

I like the Demers signing, I also do not think the leafs would need to add Pittsburghs pick in the ARI trade.

The free agent class for dmen isn't pretty but I would be scared giving that much to Demers. Hasn't played a full season his whole career.

Agree with Brian....Maybe it's Strome and the 8th pick for Matthews. I would take my chances on Zaitsev, Corrado and Carrick playing RD next year....maybe a cheaper short term veteran Dman (maybe Polak type) instead of Demers. Might want to keep Bozak and one reason is have players eligible for the expansion draft (though I hope it doesn't happen).

I think people are over-valuing Matthews because it's the "#1". Look at it this way, if Matthews was a few days older the trade would be #4 and #8 for #3 and #25. The projected difference between a #8 and a #25 is substantial, greater than Strome vs. Matthews IMO.

At some point the Leafs will need to sign a top 4 d-man. Doesn't have to be this year, or Demers, but given the relative weakness of the Leafs defense prospects there will need to be some investment made.

Keeping Bozak for the expansion draft only makes sense if their getting rid of someone who will be protected otherwise. In which case, who do you move, and to where? Lots of options.

I like this, I'd keep Bozak and ditch Laich imo tho. Overall good job

Mathews likely would've went 3rd in last years draft

With how Matthews is playing now, this could change everything that happened. It's fun to look back at really old armchair-gm teams people have made.
