Team: 2018-19 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 24, 2018
Published: Jun. 24, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Sabres get 5 pieces that will help them now and in the long term to grow with their young core. Baertschi offers speed on the wing and is just entering his prime, while Hobey Baker winner Gaudette is ready to take on full time NHL duty after getting his feet wet at the end of last year. DiPietro gives Buffalo a potential goalie-of-the-future candidate, and Nilsson is a solid backup for a year for Ullmark. Gadjovich will need more time to develop, but could be a good power forward in the NHL.

The Sabres likely won't land Tavares in free agency, but a guy like Bozak on a short-term deal would help fill the gap until Mittelstadt and Gaudette are ready for bigger roles at center.

A whole lotta nothing and a goalie that the sabres chose not to resign. Sabres will get quality players back if ROR is traded.

They probably will get more in terms of players that can help right now. But the prospects in this deal are high quality. Gaudette will be a ROR-type player in a few years.

Sabres absolutely dont need goalie prospects, why does everyone keeping dumping them on Buffalo. Nilsson is a fine backup but is a throw in. Sabres will want a prospect that can step in this or next season. Gaudette is like a poor mans ROR, he will more likely be a 3rd line center, not very interesting at the moment. Sabres have enough players like Baertschi. Gadjovich is a good piece, even though they dont really need a power forward, but not nearly enough. The Sabres have also said they are not persueing Tavares.

Well you're right they're not Pettersson or Hughes, but no team is giving that caliber of prospect for O'Reilly, sorry.

Don't get me wrong, the Sabres will get a very good return for O'Reilly if they trade him, but it won't be for an elite prospect.

You put 2 goalies in your proposal. Might as well throw in the mascot, goalies have no value, and this is from a team that needs a goalie. I would say start with juolevi, but after the recent attention to d, its probably gonna be a young forward the sabres want. Im guessing a winger that puts the puck in the net. Better than baertschi.

Goldobin has a higher upside than Baertschi. I could see him being involved. Lind is also going to be a high end forward, but he's farther away from contributing in the NHL.
