Blues desperately need center help still. What would it cost for Kadri + Nylander?

Parayko, Kostin and a 2nd for Kadri and Zaitsev?

On your thread assumption that the Leafs did sign Tavares, I would think Kadri or Matthews becomes expendable, at least to a degree. I would think that Kadri and Gardiner for Parayko and Edmundson would a hockey type deal, and considering Nylander's success with Matthews, I would think Kadri is the odd man out here.

This would be interesting. If leafs land tavares I could see them more open to trading Kadri...if JT doesn't come then Kadri would be close to untouchable....at least for now...if Nylander gets a full time spot at C this season and can take the #2 roll...that would also remove the untouchable tag from Kadri.

I wouldn't move Parayko for anything less than a potential 1C. That's Nylander, not Kadri.

I like this type of roster for the Leafs a lot. Nylander is a great piece, but if we land and allocate cap space to Tavares, then I'd rather move Nylander out for d-help...and Parayko (or Pietrangelo depending on who STL is more willing to move) would be near the top of my list of targets.

Me personally, I'd scrap the Wild deal and maybe see if we could land a Myers from Winnipeg so the pairings would be:
Rielly - Parayko
Gardiner - Myers
Dermott - Hainsey

Yeah with the assumption JT signs in TOR, Kadri becomes expandable and they need to shed some cap. TOR upgrades at center in Tavares and upgrades from Zaitsev to Parayko while getting a pick and prospect.

Or Faulk from Carolina who most likely is shopped now that they have Dougie.

Would St. Louis do a Parayko for Kadri + a pick/prospect type deal if they need the center help that bad? Would fill both teams needs perfectly, not sure about the Blues depth at RD if they lose Parayko. I think Kadri + Carrick for Parayko could work, TOR gets their RD to play with Rielly, STL gets a 1/2 C who can play against anyone and may have one of the most team friendly contracts in the league and Carrick probably gets a better chance of finding a full time role on the STL blue line.

On this post, really the cap doesn't work for next year because of the performance bonus carryover. So that Minni trade isn't really practical.

It does does make cap and playing sense for the Leafs if Tavares was signed for the one of Nylander and Kadri could be traded for Parayko. Leafs could have a real solid centre group and at right wing too.
Agree with Juice, Leafs could keep Zaitsev and be fine with six or seven Dmen. But Leafs shouldn't get up much for a one year rental of Myers . And Faulk no reason to give that much for him either, despite the impression that ALL RHD are stars.
