1.can maata even play RD? he cant as far as I know.
2. you don't have sprong anywhere in the lineup and he cant be sent down this year so he will be RW on one of first 3 lines. Put sprong in.
3. thanks to putting sprong in drop rust to fourth line RW instead of ZAR.
4.Move ZAR to 4LW .
5.in order to save cap space use one of the in-house backups for goalie so that there is almost a million more room.

Other than that I really like the lineup better than signing Johnson for the reported figure.

CDH is going to get upwards of 4 million so good luck trying get him for less than 3. Also Scuderi was 4 years older when he resigned with the Pens. I dont understand why 31 is now the new 40 it seems when talking about JJ.

Maatta/Oleksiak were a pair, I think Oleksiak played the RH.
That’s weird, I didn’t take Sprong out of the lineup..
I don’t trust Sprong to give him big minutes, but a 3rd RW & PP time is probably right for him. Maybe Vanek on the top RW & Rust on 3LW?
Jarry needs more play time than being a backup G, and DeSmith isn’t good enough. Better to sign a career backup than to try to trade if Murray gets hurt.

I’m fine with Pens going up to $3.5 per on CDH, just have to try a cheaper bottom 6 winger with speed, Reider or Duclair maybe.
Jack Johnson was **** at 21, he’s beet extra **** for the last 3 years or so. He was a healthy scratch in CBJ. He’s not worth a 1 year deal at league minimum, his HERO is worse than Ruhwedel’s...

Oleksiak i think can play the right side, just not what you had listed so at first i didn't notice it was just them two backwards.
capfriendly I thnk still has sprong in the AHL so you have to manually move him in(not sure why, his contract isn't a two-way contract but I figured it out when I made a lineup), which adds his contract to the cap space as well. Which is why the backup goalie space does matter in your scenario unless you get somebody else cheaper than you have projected. I would try sprong on the third line to start the season probably and see how the lines worked. Having him on the third line pushes kessel up to malkins wing. so if you wanted vanek at 1RW than you would have to make horni 4th line RW(since horni, sprong, kessel, are all RW only, rust can switch but is better on the right side, not sure about vanek, ZAR I think played LW last year so he might play both as well)

O sucked at playing the R side last year. That's how you ended up with Chad R.
Vanek is going to get 4-5 mil minimum x 4 years. Reports are 5+ so it depends where he goes so you can forget that low cap hit.

But hes going to get more than 3.5 thats the problem and Vanek is going to probably get 4+ as well...

Sprong is gonna play Top 6, so you should get him in there. Also, Vanek is going to cost too much and there's nowhere for him to fit. Putting him in the bottom 6 wastes his talent skill. We need a banger who can score a little, ala Wilson from Washington, just not as big a douchebag. And Case DeSmith is more than adequate as a back-up, that's wasted money.
