Description

Callahan has M-NTC won’t go to the sens. TB need to free up that 1st rd pick otherwise your looking at potentially 3 years without a first rd pick. You also need to free up the cap space.
Don’t know the team that well but would imagine this is what’s going on. Probably more to the NYR trade but you get the idea.

You're going to need to give the Rangers something if you want them to take on Callahan. I would suggest draft picks, but if Tampa doesn't want to not pick until the late third round a few years in a row, then it will take someone one of Stephens/Volkov/Barre-Boutlet and 1-2 mid-draft picks if you're lucky.

Callahan is not worth that pick at all, that second could even be a first so NYR value it high, plus I bet NYR aren't on his list either.

I like the Ottawa trade, I think TBL would try and send some CAP to them as well though

TBL can't trade their 2019 first round pick, it's conditionnal to them winning the cup this year (it'll go to the NYR if that happens).

The Rangers aren't trading anything to take on Callahan's contract, Tampa needs to make it worth our while.
