Marvelous! This team would be a perennial Stanley Cup Favorite. An additional expansion team in Seattle should increase the cap as well.

Looks like you'd lose Vasi after this season though. Paying >17M for a second pairing is pretty rough too, even if it's McD and Karlsson. You basically have to hope that Seattle takes Miller or Killorn in the expansion draft.

You’re over the salary cap, and Karlsson isn’t getting that kind of money from a state tax-free Cup contender with cap concerns. Take about $2 million off from him, and try to get Point on a cheaper bridge deal to fit under the cap. And you can re-sign Gourde by trading J.T. Miller, and make extra cap space, but I don’t know if that’s what they want.

I have never heard of a team signing a player as a UFA and then trading him for picks. That Gourde deal is unrealistic.

However, that trade has no impact on your roster, so you still get 5 stars from me. Nice work!

PS. Yzerman will convince Karlsson to sign for less than $11M - probably something like Kucherov's $9.5M.

Well Miller doesn't have an NTC. So NYR can definitely trade him away for some younger and cheaper pieces. Also the idea is having 3D take up 25M and the other 4D take up >4M.

Also Vasi is an RFA, so you have control over him! Maybe sign him to a bridge.

Either way, It'll be a challenge down the road to keep everyone.

What do you think of Gourde? Are his points inflated because of his teammates? or is he a true 70+ point player?

Tanks! The idea was to trade Gourde this off season since he has one more year left on his contract at 1M!!!

But yeah looking at it now, I agree! Karly, Point might sign for less.

Miller has a limited NTC; so he can submit an 8 team no-trade list. I'm sure those 8 teams will be non-contenders, so the other 22 teams that he would allow a trade to might not have the cap space.

Vasi is only making 3.5M right now, and has already had one season as a Vezina finalist. I don't think he's going to want a bridge deal.

If he has another season like 17-18, Holtby/Bobrovsky money to start.
