Kucherov deal was the best thing for the Leafs, bridge deal and 100 point season gets 9.5, I think Willy gets a bridge deal and Mitch gets 8 mil, Mitches 3rd deal might be 10, but he can't get that much now, the winger market caps at 9.5 with Benn and Kucherov.
I know Kane is 10.5, sorry he has 3 cups, after we get 3 cups then Mitch can have 10 smile

matthews 10-11, marner 7-8, nylander 6-7 all on 8 yr deals. winning matters long term, money will come from other avenues in toronto and with winning. contracts will be heavely front loaded so they can invest early on. tavares market value in his prime was 13+ Mill. nobody on this team recieves more than JT regardless of potential and future cap increases

Tax implications make that deal closer to 11 in most cities. Nylander getting bridged could easily result in having to pay him over 11 million if he scores a point a game or higher in his bridge deal. I still firmly believe giving him an 8 year deal in the 7 million dollar range is much better for long term cost certainty and contract value. I think he'll end up being a bargain and when he's FA at 30 he'll be much more manageable from a contract perspective. You don't hand out massive 8 year deals to 30 year olds. (Unless you're LA, but they'll be a disaster in the very near future).

If Cody Ceci = Josh Manson, give or take, as far as both current stardom and future potential, I would rather Manson if it took a similar package to acquire him. You also need to factor the fact that Ottawa and Toronto aren't normally trade partners.

Normally I would agree but look at the Dion deal and no one wants to be in ottawa so if that is the best they could get for Ceci let's be honest Ottawa isn't making the playoffs for 5 years so if we do well they wont br playing us. I think they learned from Hoffman and need to do as well as possible.
