Skinner/Faulk and Sharks trades

Description
While we are very likely out on EK65, I’ve seen some ideas about trading for the two big pieces we need to make our team better from the Canes. The Canes need a top forward prospect and forward depth, as well as a great upgrade on their blue line. We get a big upgrade on our blueline and the big top-six scoring forward to replace Neal and Perron.

The values on the trades are up for evaluation, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated. I’m especially looking for input on the Sharks trade since we are division rivals.

Even after the Canes trade Faulk they still have Hamilton, Pesce, TVR on RD. They don’t want to take on another NHL RD. They already have a logjam there. Skinner has an NMC and has turned down chances to waive it per reports. I like the concept, replace Miller with Subban. They need a goalie. Bump the draft pick up and they would certainly be interested if Skinner will waive. But not that package.

Easy no from Sharks too.

Hard to see the Sharks doing that trade for a couple reasons. I don't see the point. Karlsson is a swiss army knife for them, he plays on any line. The 3rd pick is interesting, but I almost wonder if it's overpayment on the Knights part. Obviously division rivals are an issue.

You said the canes need a top forward prospect, forward depth, and a dman upgrade. We need literally none of those things. The canes don’t make this trade.

Yeah, that was the problem I saw with it because we need a third line winger but I can’t find anyone else with some to trade. Of course, being rivals means that the trade probably wouldn’t happen anyway but I thought maybe they’d be into taking a pick or two. Not to mention he’s got a great AAV for what he does too.

I agree that the NMC is an issue but I feel that he would waive it to come play for the Knights since we are in a relatively weak division and went deep into the playoffs.

Subban was something i forgot about to include in the trade, so I’ve edited that but Eakin would be great for their forward group and Suzuki is at most a year away from being an impact forward as well. Thanks for the input as well.

I’m not sure if Skinner waives for anyone. I think he wants to play out the year and test the market. I think he really wants to stay there but they can’t afford him.
