hawks get robbed blind massive over payment. I love Gallagher as a player to.

DeBrincat and Schmaltz have more value to the hawks by far if you take into account age, cap hit, potential, and contract status.

I try not to leave one stars often, but this trade is so lobsided it offends me. This is just so terrible, sorry for not mincing words here.

Essentially what you have here is
Chicago Blackhawks
Aging winger known for not producing in the playoffs

Montreal Canadiens
Everything of value that the hawks currently possess, at least in-terms of young scoring players

You know Montreal is going to ask for DeBrincat, Schmaltz, and a 1st round pick. The other pieces involved in this trade are up for debate. I just made my best guess on that part of the trade and tried to be fair on both sides.

You know MTL is going to be told to F off for that price.

I think the census around the league is that Stan is kinda in the position he has never been in before. Where he kinda does have to make a move to keep his job, or at least these other GM's think so. So they think they can get him to overpay for the "teams needs" because the mounting pressure by not just the organization but the fans too.

I think thats why we keep seeing/hearing him basically say nothing when interviewed. "we might make a trade, we might not" "im confident in this current roster, we have excitement in the room with these current players and we think we can have a very good bounce back year" while everyone around him and the fans are probably like "dude, WTF are you talking about?!" hes probably trying to make it seem like he doesnt need anything, and wont be pressured into overpaying for something because the league thinks at the end of the day he will crack to make a move because hes in the hot seat.

if thats true is a crap ton of cloak and dagger under the table type of play.

Bergivan has been pretty bad for years, looks like he isnt going anywhere. and CAR looks like they finally got a good team on paper since the 06 team. So i dont think they will take anything less than the asking price. or they just wont make the moves.

Schmaltz & Debrincat are not tradeable for the Hawks... same as Gally in MTL...

To make it fair and be a good trade partner the trade could look more like:
Straight up: Saad for Pacc.
