From Leafs fan to another Leafs fans.. 2 AHLers, 2nd and bottom-6 winger wouldnt give you superstar in prime in Panarin..

I'm looking at it from the perspective that he wont sign with them...

Still.. as a rental he would cost a first to start. Leafs are not going to get Panarin. His prefered destinations are LA, NY and Florida and each of those teams would gladly sign him long term

For a one year rental? I would say that is an over payment. Kapanen wont be a bottom 6 for long.

Still.. its superstar player who would have like 1.5 points per game in leafs uniform.. you gotta start with 1st. And Kapanen is bottom-6 player and would be. 3rd line winger at best. He is speedy and gritty but not much of a skill there. Yes there is a leafs fan who thinks Kappy is bottom-6 winger. Maybe if someone gets injured he would be brought to top-6 but other than that not really.. Grundstrom is going to be with Matthews longterm or Johnsson and Hyman is forever a 1st line LW which is absolutely fantastic

A 33 year-old 1-year rental in Rick Nash (the guy you're apparently signing in as a free agent) yielded a 1st round pick, Ryan Spooner, Matt Beleskey, and a medium-ceiling prospect in Ryan Lindgren. You're either overrating Bracco or criminally underrating Panarin. There are more than likely at least 5 other teams fielding better offers for Panarin and that's being generous.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that you may be overrating Kapanen instead of Bracco. Eithey way, that package isn't landing you Panarin.
