Probably. Sask is one of those places where the population is pretty scattered. Even if the city of Toon isn't big, there'd be at least a thousand Regina-folk chipping in on season tickets, plus more from other towns. Just depends on how big they can make the stadium.

SSK can’t support a team right now. It’s not because of the number of fans. It’s not because they wouldn’t sell any piece of merchandise they make. I feel, with the difference in the Canadian and American dollars only getting larger, the equivalent to meet the cap if the team is bad will be much higher and I think they’ll struggle. I see them in an Ottawa type situation and Ottawa is a bigger city with more people around then Sask. I would love to see another Canadian team, but I just don’t see it happening

If there was another canadian team whats your best guess for where. Quebec seems like it but could anywhere else support one enough. Halifax or a second toronto team

My guess would be probably somewhere in the north in the country because people who live near the US border are already buying NHL merchandise. Moving to the northern provinces exposes new fans. The NHL already made money off the Nordiques in Quebec and have exposes a lot more people to hockey that way. My guess would be an English speaking momtreal franchise or somewhere up north. Just my two cents.

It’s not necessarily a population thing. If you have a small arena but a lot of die hard fans (see Winnipeg) you can get more people to buy merchandise. The NHL only cares about revenue. If you put a team in Nunavut or Yukon people from around the league will buy jerseys hats and other things and then almost anyone in that province will become a fan. It’s not always a population game. Especially if it’s easy to access and closer for people to stay. Again just my thoughts. If another Canadian team comes into the league it’s probably an English Montreal team
