Sounds like he's going to walk as an UFA. no? Also, i think Krug would work out really well as the 2nd pair/PP D. Krug/Jones on the back end of the PP would be pretty lethal. I think adding a Providence prospect to the deal could do it, not bad haul.

If I were Boston I would start the conversation with Donato and a 1st. If panarin is willing to resign, and I doubt he wants to play in boston, you are probably looking at adding DeBrusk, maybe more.
