Description

This is a look at a possible 2018-19 Knights team with a couple of trades and some smaller moves to plug holes. With the input of Caniac555 I’ve complied a Canes trade that I feel is fair for both teams and helps fix problems for both teams. The Habs trade is just to clear up cap for contract extensions next season and give the Habs a good forward to mentor their young future down the middle. The Eakin trade is something I acquired from tycam’s ACGM that solves problems for both teams and gets Eakin off our books. I think Glass or Suzuki will be ready to fill that 3rd line center role by the start of the season.

I like this trade for the Canes. Just curious - why Faulk on left...my only comment to that is he’s never played on the left. that doesn’t mean he can’t, but just don’t think he needs to.

Thanks, I’d be very happy with this happening in real life. Faulk on the left was a glitch with moving Holden to the bottom. Appreciate the feedback overall too!

Assuming you’re a Knights fan...What would need to be added to the trade to have the prospect be Suzuki or Glass?

Although Karlsson came out of nowhere last season and playoffs, $5.5M may be a gross shortchange. If Vegas could keep that first line together at $15.5M AAV per, WOW!

Yeah, im always bouncing between 5.5 and 6 million AAV because it just feels right as it doesn’t over pay but still respects him scoring 43 goals and having 78 points at 25 years old. Not to mention, you don’t want him being paid too much more than his 5mil AAV linemates because it could hamper their chemistry. Another influence is that Miller extension is VERY good so I feel McPhee is good at signing high-quality players efficiently but signs Reaves for 2.7AAV and Holden for 2.2AAV. Either way I’m happy to resign him to whatever he wants because he is a legend for our team forever!

The values for Suzuki and Glass are always tough to gauge since they are two of our four best prospects (not to mention the bias toward them being our first ever picks), so if we just replace Leschyshyn with Glass or Suzuki I would probably just remove our picks and add some decent to play on our third line right wing. I think Ferland is asking too much but maybe McGinn? Not 100% sure because removing the picks is decent value.
