The Blues aren't giving Thomas to a division rival.

I appreciate the thought you put into this. I think all these trades meet the needs of the opposing teams.

Much better D and goalie that can take you closer to the cup. Based on the moves of the team, they're going for a long run this season, so why not add some very able players to help?

Is there any other player(s) you'd give that are close to same value?

Kostin maybe, but I don't like trading within the division in general. Winnipeg did it with Stastny and now they're without Stastny and gave their division rival two stud prospects.

Cuz Staal isn't worth the Jets 2nd best prospect and a first

Jets paid something like that for Stastny last season, and Staal, based on his stats last year, was better than him, so, he's naturally a tad more expensive.

Foley was about the 15th best prospect...He also wasn't even signed...still in College. This was also at the trade deadline so the Jets knew it was going to be a late pick

Gotta admit, I don't really know about the Jets' prospect pool. Just assumed that Foley was better/as good prospect than/as those two because he was drafted earlier than the two of them.

Who would be a fair prospect to place in the trade?

The value is the problem. An aging goalie and another top4 dman(we don't absolute have to have and we can't protect in expansion) isn't close to the value of Thomas. The boring system is what makes dub look good
