Everybody else is signing him? There is about 30 weeks to an NHL season. Maybe each team can have Stamkos for one week. Pay him 500,000 each...that's 15m for a season. No cap problems for any one team.

If the Oil could convince SS to sign it would be frightening to the rest of the league for sure. I think your Isles trade is good, but the Oilers give up way to much in the Petro deal. AP is a little overrated IMO, and Hall seems to have lost some lustre with Oiler faithful after a tough second half of the season. I would't do that swap 1-for-1 if I'm Chiarelli. Hall is part of the answer there, not the problem.

I agree hall is a great player and AP is probably a bit overrated but oilers need defence and the 1st rounder this year makes it a little easier if yak wouldn't work out in the top 6
