Quick youth infusion

Created by: RC333
Team: 2018-19 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 30, 2018
Published: Jul. 30, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Avalanche could use some winger depth. Baertschi comes cheap and can play 2nd line and if your teams strong he can make a solid 3rd liner

Sutter has been rumoured to Anaheim for awhile. Anaheim needs a center to take on the defensive matchups if kesler will be out for the season again. Sutter has taken over 70 of canucks defensive zone ice time last year. All it'll cost them is Ritchie and a 2nd.

Granlund goes to Pittsburgh as he's a cheap option as either a 3rd or 4th line center. He can contribute if out in an offensive role and be really good defensively if put on a shutdown line.

Del zotto goes to LA to add defensive depth for their playoff push. Del zotto is cheap and can contribute physically and is a solid bottom pairing guy.

Making these moves allows Leipsic Goldobin and Virtanen all a role in the top 6 and gives Gaudette a spot on the team as well

Canucks also carry 13 picks into the 2019 draft which they're hosting

No one signs players to 4 years then trades them. Buckle in cuz Russell and Beagle are staying. Hutton on the other hand has no value. He's earning too much and no one wants him. Benning has tried moving him to no avail.

Edler shouldn't go and should be resigned for cheap with short term. He can be a solid guy eventually behind Hughes and Juolevi. Which would make a solid left side. If he does waive his no trade then canucks should look to trade him and sign a ufa to replace him

If they wanted him imo I'd want a 2nd and maybe a B prospect. He's an awesome matchup center who plays 70% of his starts in the defensive zone. From a canucks standpoint a 2nd and maybe a B level defensive prospect for the right side would be solid.

I think RC333 is right. Sutter could cost something more if multiple teams would be interested and/or Canucks keep salary.
