Wingers and Jake for 6’4, 6’6 and 6’8 D men

Created by: Drunkley
Team: 2018-19 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 31, 2018
Published: Jul. 31, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I understand this is completely ridiculous. But with a defence this big, and the guys we’ve got down the middle.. it’s gotta work out lmao
And yes I know Weber is hurt, yes I know Nash is probably retired. I’d be fine with a Kadri Leivo Johnsson 3rd line anyways...and we don’t need Weber in October, we need him in May and June. Montreal and Toronto have made some trades in the past, they could get a younger more healthy right handed Dman, a great speedy forward and another 1st and we’d get Shea Weber at a much reduced cost.
I know none of this will happen so relax before you crucify me, but with a defence this big and good and with our 3 centres, I could play wing on this squad and contribute. Let alone Leivo and Downtown Connor Brown!

It is sad that a fellow ACGM has to include a disclosure for the rest of us to not crucify you. Many times when we make teams or read about others, it is taken as gospel truth or something imminent. THIS IS ALL FOR FUN, PEOPLE! Try to have a little fun!

Anyways, nice job. However, if Andersen can raise his game to the next level along with what seems to be a high powered offense, I believe the TML are on the verge of greatness.

I think you need Chara too.
Maybe Kjell Samuelsson would be willing to come out of retirement. Hedman would round out this group nicely.

As for goaltending,I would love to see a team teach a very large sumo wrestler to skate and put him in goal. There would not be much net to look at.

Is bigger better? Collectively those three Dmen saviours you have put on the Leafs have on six playoff rounds in twenty six NHL seasons. Less than one playoff round victory every four years. Pass.

This is true.. but if we can get 4 of those 6 rounds in a row next year or any year in the near future.. well then I’m a happy man smile

Washington actually did something like that once. They had a 400lb goalie in practice once, it was in the early 2000’s and he had a heart attack. I’m seriously not making this up.
