Kadri is not going anywhere. You don't get rid of a 30 goal centre on a cheap contract when centre depth is a huge part of your team.
Why trade out both Kapanen AND Brown? I think we should keep both but if you really want to make a trade move one to keep the other on the third line. You are killing our depth for no reason and rushing prospects like Bracco.
On a smaller note:
Dermott usually played right side (on marlies), if these are the lines we would go with he would be on the right keeping Gardiner of the left.

Why does everyone on this site that does a Leafs GM scenario think that Zaitsev has positive value? He's a mediocre defenseman at best signed to a bad contract. That package doesn't get you anywhere close to landing Compher, much more Compher and a 2nd round pick. Also, that package of 2 replacement bottom 6 players + Kadri doesn't land you one of Minnesota's top 2 defensemen.

First point more than the second point, though. Kadri does have the capabilities to be worth Spurgeron.

I don't know why the Leafs would trade Zaitsev if he plays at his 4.5m contract level. I don't know why the Avs would trade for Zaitsev if he doesn't play at his 4.5m contract levei,
And what a overpayment for two years of Sprugeon. You really think Liljegren is NHL ready? Ferraro on the team?

Two replacement players? Sure Carrick is not a proven top 6 RHD but he could become a good 6th D-man. Though Kapenen??? He is one of the fastest skaters in the league, a great penalty killer, and has huge upside. You may think since I am a Leafs fan, I overvalue our players... I don't. That trade for Spurgeon is an overpayment on Toronto's end.
