Description

Is that enough for Karlsson? I think it depends on what other teams have offered.

For 2019-2020 :

I think the cap will rise to 82-83 million.

Resign Matthews @ 10 million per for 8
Resign Marner @ 7 million per for 8
Resign Karlsson @ 10 million per 7

And bridge 3 year deals for Johnsson and Kapanen.

Let Gardiner and Hainsey walk, replace from within/dumpster dive.

I.e. Borgman

Also have to hope there is some sort pre-deteremined planned in motion for Marleau.

Hopefully Grundstorm or Timashov are ready to hit the NHL too.

You obviously believe Leafs should get a discount for getting Tavares and it won’t happen. Not for Faulk, not for Parayko, not for Karlsson, not for any other defenseman you have to give what they are worth. You aren’t giving what they are worth.

You need 9 other players to sign. Let’s say they get an average of 1m each(that’s on the low side considering Kap/Johnsson will want more),, that’s 9m on top of the 27m(which is also on the low side) you have set for the 3 players. 36m and 50m already signed is 86m. I don’t think the cap will jump that much. Even with Horton on LTIR it won’t be enough.

To me it seems too much for a one year rental. Really doubt there is cap for everyone next year. You really think 20 goal scorer Kase can be obtained for 2nd rounder and an AHLer?

I have seen many unrealistic trades. They tend to revolve around current rumours. No idea why you have taken it upon yourself to spearhead this specific crusade against lowball offers for defenseman.

No they wont. You're at least $1 million short on Matthews, Karlsson and Marner. Matthews gets $11 million per as does Karlsson and Marner gets close to $8 million per You're looking at $40 million actually $41 million or half of the salary cap with just 4 players. Tavares $11 million Matthews and Karlsson $11 million each as well and Marner $8 million no way that is sustainable in the long term.
