I doubt either team would do that. On MTL side they can probably get a better 1st and a top 6 F or a top 3 D. As for the Caps, don't know if they want give up Eller who was crucial to their Cup win for 1 season of Patches.

I am 100% sure it won’t happen. I think this completes the collection: all 30 teams have now traded for Patches.

Doubt Montreal really want's Eller back. We have enough 3rd Line centers... Siegenthaler is complete ****... But the 1st round pick is a good starting point

Eller is about the only middle sized hit guy they have. They’re either huge salary stars or league min types, or close to it. It amuses me he’s an ex Hab ..... I had heard only good things about the prospect, but I admit to not knowing the pool that well. What’s his issue?

I don't watch him play at all so I am in the same pool. (I am completely basing it off his stats...) He is 21 and he only had 12 points last year in the AHL while being a -20.. I doubt bergevin would even be interested in him..

A 1st AND a top 6F or top 3D, for 1 year of Patches?!?! Who the heck is going to do that?

Only if Patches swore he was going UFA and this was clearly just a rental and no one else offered more than a Skinner’s ransom.

Siegenthaler is a stay at home d-man, has an NHL body already and is a consistent, hard-working guy. He seems to be very close to getting a 3rd pairing spot with the caps, maybe in 19-20. He by no means has a high ceiling and will not produce much offensively with a lack of skill, but he's an NHL prospect. Just to give you an idea of who he is as a player.

I figured that would be what he was. We already have Lernout who sounds pretty similar to Siegenhaler

Yup good comparison, they're both defensively reliable and can play PK, but don't have much of an offensive upside at the NHL level.
