Jack Hughes Dream Comes True

Created by: coga16

Description
Sens picks does yield Hughes for the Avs. Lets just see how fun this roster could be

Stone is 100% the ideal UFA signing but any UFA could be placed into that 2nd line role, so its just the ideal scenario...mayebe its a guy like eberle, or skinner, or to a lesser extent Silfverberg or Kevin Hayes. Just a top 6 winger comes to market and signs with the Avs

soderberg is moved not bc he is a bad player, just that too many Cs on the depth chart are there and avs need to open them up. Shane Bowers could maybe make the team and doesnt have a spot with how the Avs prospect depth is currently

Contracts look good and I love signing Stone as added insult to injury

Stone is overkill to finish off the Sens, but I have this sneaky suspicion with Stone bc the Avs could be a real thing. Its based on that the hired a couple years ago hired Wade Klippenstein to be a big WHL scout for them. He was the Wheat Kings director of scouting, who drafted Stone to the Kings In the first place. Its a soft tie to the guy but has been interesting to see the Avs shift to look at the WHL the past few seasons. He has an ear of Sakics at the very least

A guy like Eberle or even Silfverberg would be a fun add if its not Stone. For the 1st time in a long time I am very optimistic about the Avs. Really do feel the dark days are over

Stop it. Ottawa is dead already. ? lol wow, but seriously, if Stone and Karlsson sign elsewhere, Ottawa has officially hit the rock bottom, the abyss, the bottomless pit. Plus Colorado has their 1st (which will most likely be a top 5.)
What a bad time to be an Ottawa fan. (Not me, but the fans)

Duchene leaves Ottawa also, and he signs down river to a team that needs a centre.....,the Canadians. Ottawa's three best players, and maybe the only three guys who are above average leave next July

Duchenes an interesting cat, he thinks he still is the guy that should be leading a teams offense, when he really is ideal to be a teams compliments to a core. He probably would sign in a place like Montreal to still try to be the 1C for a while longer but he would so deadly on a team like Columbus or Nashville in that 2nd line C role.

My money is on him resigning in Ottawa bc he is a family church guy and being so close to his home town to raise a family will trump normal hockey logic of where he should sign

Believe you analysis of Duchene is bang on. There would be a lot of pressure on him to be that top centre on Ottawa and Montreal with poor teams. For a less money signing with a good team and not being the top guy as you suggest might be best for his "happiness". And I'm a believer in happiness, even it means less money.

Like it a lot and there is always the big 'if' that they miss out on Hughes and end up with maybe Kakko so it could be Kakko-Jost-Stone on the second, which tbh I'd be pretty much equally happy with.
