Why are the Habs trading a (hopefully by then) starter ready NHL goalie for an regressing 34 year old defenceman?
PHI is giving up way too much there...even if this deal was done today it would be too much. The assets MTL is sending are trending downwards too.

I'm not certain which trade you're referring to there... I agree that the Phi trade is a bit off unless there is development on the side of MTL's outbound prospects, particularly McCarron.

Referring to the Rangers trade.
But now that you mention it, that Kings trade is also egregious.

Rangers trade?? Are we looking at the same post?? Was this edited dramatically at some point?

I see VGK, LAK, NYI, PHI.

There was a Rangers trade listed (must have been deleted). I forget all the pieces but it involved 3 pieces going to the Rangers (one being Lindgren) and the only piece back to MTL was Staal.

Yeah I deleted it I didn’t want to put Lindgren. It was Lindgren for Staal, 2nd, 3rd

As long as you're looking 2 years in the future and hoping for a brighter future it might be nice to see a couple more home-grown Habs defensive prospects as a bottom pairing (that's Josh Brook and Alex Romanov). Average age of the defense would be about 22 years old, even including Weber.
