I would take Larsson but he is arguably Edmontons best defensive defender, so thats a no from EDM. AND WHY would we need Petry FFS?

Leafs would be marginally better this year on defence but lose picks 1,2,3,4. Hardly worth it for Leafs. You really don't understand Horton's LTIR if you think the Leafs are giving a first round for him or that Arizona will pay 10.6m out of pocket to acquire him.

Edmonton is tight to the cap, just lost Sekera, arguably their best LH puck moving D. Moore & Rosen are good (and fast) low cost help & Zaitsev is a comparable salary.
economics are good & Edmonton D produce very few points , picking up these two D would help that problem

LTIR kills the Leafs a season or two down the road when Matthews, Marner, Nylander and whoever earn all the big bonuses getting rid of the cap hit (yes there is one) leaves room for a trade to take on additional salary

It hurts the Leafs cap wise for this season only because they don't want carryover the 4m or in PB into 2019/20. Having Horton or LTIR in 2019/20 doesn't hurt much since the PBonuses are jut 400,000. Players on LTIR do not affect the cap hit, it might, might affect when teams can pay their performance bonuses. Teams don't get "killed" for having injured players. Do you really think that Arizona wants to pay 10.6m out of pocket for Horton?
