How the deal for EK might look like if it happens? Thoughts?

Description
CHILL PEOPLE! There has been a tweet of Elliote Friedman. Vancouver is in the mix but just trying what the deal would look like. There are same chances for Dallas, Vegas, Vancouver and maybe other team involved I dont know the teams just those 3.. if there is some deal, it does not happen overnight.. in my post I tried to simulate what the deal might look like. Surely I might be completely wrong and value might be not good, Ive just tried to show how for me the value works with some reasonings behind each player involved..
Trades
1.
OTT
  1. Goldobin, Nikolay
  2. Juolevi, Olli
  3. Virtanen, Jake
  4. 2019 1st round pick (VAN)
  5. 2020 3rd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
Ottawa would want Vancouver to take Ryan's contract as well, but I dont see that happening. If yes include Sutter to the deal, they would take his contract..

As for assets involved in here. Juolevi and 1st rounder are the most important pieces going to Ottawa. Juolevi, the former 5th overall selection is very good fit for Ottawa, because he would get a ton of ice time. He is very good defensively and offensively, skates good and has very high quality transition from defensive to offensive side of the game and can be the PERFECT LHD behind Chabot. Virtanen has been mismanaged and would get every opportunity for success, he would be very good partner for Logan Brown, who is more of a skilled centerman who likes to make plays and Jake Virtanen more of a scorer and hard worker. He would likely develop into bottom-6 player BUT better than in Vancouver. Change of scenery would certainly help him and same goes for Goldobin who is definitely one of the more skilled guys in the Vancouver's prospect pipeline and with lack of talent ready to step in Ottawa's lineup he might crack top-6 and as easily on 1st line with Duchene. 1st rounder would be higher than expected but not lottery protected. If EK is dealt, there would be an extension involved. And EK would want to sign in Vancouver. Beautiful city from what Ive heard, great pipeline of prospects, swedish wonderkid in Pettersson and other reasons
2.
3.
VAN
  1. 2019 5th round pick (NJD)

You most definitely don't get, arguably, one of the top 3 D in the world for that......you just don't.

Must haves:

One of Horvat, Boeser

One or 2 of Demko, Dipietro, Petterson, Virtanen, Juolevi

at minimum a 1st and 2nd with no conditions.

Sorry guys, thats the price

If Karlsson doesn't re-sign with the team he'll be dealt to, Vancouver would get absolutely butchered value-wise. That's why no one will ever pay that much for him, unless the trade is a sign-and-trade.

Even if the re-signing is there, no way anybody does pay that value..

THAT is massive overpayment! Boeser is undoubtedly one of the best wingers in the league and second part of that the Pettersson? Hell no.. he is close to Forsberg in terms of quality and talent. With situation in Ottawa and state of their management, you SHOULD not expect that kind of return for Erik Karlsson, no matter how good he is. There is a certain thing in NHL with deals that if organization is runned greatly, the deals are also great because other GMs would need to get the price right. With ottawa.. EK wants out of Ottawa and as time goes on, Karlssons price is getting lower and lower.. thats sad true, you are not getting full value on Karlsson no matter how hard you try and this is possibly the best value you can get. Change 3rd to 2nd or Goldobin to Dahlen, but it would not change the value..

Your not getting pettersson Boeser Horvat Hughes Demko or our 2019 first. Jim wouldn't trade any of those as stripping those away further push back our rebuild.

Its not smart to get a 28 yo player when a teams rebuilding. Benning is just doing his due diligence by contacting ottawa. Nothing more.

If canucks really wanted him, and let's say canucks got Jack Hughes in next year's draft that with Boeser Horvat Pettersson Dahlen Hughes Demko Juolevi Lind would probably allow canucks to sign Karlsson in UFA. But we'll see what happens.

Only smart move is maybe going after him in UFA otherwise I hope the canucks stay away. Cuz they shouldn't trade their first cuz guaranteed they'll be a bottom 10 team and without the first a trade doesn't seem realistic.

100% agree. Thats why this trade is so difficult to make. You would be giving up too much for one guy and in this day and age you need a whole team

BTW I'm not a Canucks fan or a Sens fan and as a Leafs fan I have seen a lot of games with Karlsson.....Dude is unreal. But their ask is nuts on his value and I would never pay it.

Exactly. And as I previously stated. His value is trending downwards (is still high, he is the best offensive dman of our generation) so I would not expect any of the big names being involved. Expect Juolevi, Dahlen, picks..

And I firmly believe that Dorion wouldn't go near that deal as of right now. Maybe at the draft next year but not now. I don't see this trade being done, not just with that Canucks, but with any team. Dorion looks really dumb with that Duchene trade and he can't make another bad one like that.

I gotta disagree. This deal would be good and Ottawa would jump on that (because unprotected 1st rounder, they dont have one and they expect Vancouver to SUCK, but they wouldnt with Karlsson, just saying)

Thats why the prospect has to be better then what you would want to give up. If I were the Canucks I'd just stay the course and pass on EK

I agree with you and I stated that there is just an outside shot of that EK deal.. this is just a scenario if it hypotethicaly happens.
