Their first would have to be included.

**** me. I'm not even an Ottawa fan, but geeez. That's stealing from Ottawa and selling it back at a premium. However, I don't see Stone or Karlsson staying in Ottawa next year. I'm Pierre Dorion, I'm taking a good long look at this trade.

Edit : This needs Ottawa's first or no deal.

They gonna have to settle if they want Jost.
And Barrie. This trade offer is pretty reasonable. No way they get there first back.

They wish they can have that first back, but yea there is no way in hell you get it back unless you offer those 2 for the pick and maybe a small piece. That’s how hard of a hell no Colorado would send as a message.

The only thing that needs to be switched is that they get their own first back, which means you are trading the possibility of Hughes for Karlsson, I think that with the rest of the package gets it done.
Ottawa would love this too because then they can have a true firesale, come last and try and copy the Leafs Module. They have Tkachuk, they could add Hughes, the rebuild at least has a chance then.

I personally hate this deal so much. You destroyed the Avs future and their rebuild

you are crazy if you think that Otts 1st, 3 big pieces of the Avs future, and Barrie is fair. Avs hold all the power with the Sens 1st. They aren't going to give them 5 pieces that would immediately play and impact on their roster for 2 pending UFAs who would eat all of the Avs cap space and would be forced to start to tear down their team before it can even start
That is beyond an over payment and a terrible deal for the Avs.

Then you can take 2 pieces, it doesn't matter it only gets done if they Get Barrie, that pick and a prospect. You have to remember that despite Ottawa being a joke they are trading for a player that a year ago in the playoffs was called the 3rd best player on the planet. Team him with Mckinnon and a young goaltender, you have the 3 pieces that can lead you to a cup. It COULD become Hughes, but you don't care if it means you get a top 5 player in the game that will make your team infinitely better. It could be Hughes, it could also be an 8th overall pick that doesn't help for 2 years and you waste 2 more years that that beautiful Mckinnon deal.

If you got him now you have 5 years of Mckinnon at 6.3 to win a cup.
Or wait and start being good when you pay him 11 million a year.

I think this makes too much sense, and it isn't Joe Sakic's fault that he totally destroyed Dorian in the Duchene trade.
