Clearly it does not work from how you show it here. Also Gardiner is not a Leaf July 1st, 2019.

Actually you can expect Nylander to get somewhere from Ehlers to Pastrnak deal so its a bit more than he gets. Also Marner gets 7.5 imo.

Yes way.... those numbers are close, my guess is 6.75m for nylander and 7.5 for Marner and 10.5 for Mathews.

The only reason I would think Nylander gets a bit more is that he hardballs a bit.

My prediction is Matthews gets what JT got, Nylander gets 6.6 (Pastrnak)-7, Marner gets 9

Imagine how good the Leafs would be in 2019 if Carrick and Dermott prove themselves this year of being a #2 pair. Then we can wave buh-bye to Gardiner and have that lovely $4M to spend (I think the cap is going to be $82M).

From what I’ve seen from Dermott he is ready to be a #2 on the left side. He would need to regress quite a bit to lose that. He’s a very smart player, it’s not so much about his performance as it is his decision making and that is a good sign for a player to improve. Much more rare to lose that.

I’ll say 11 million for Matthews so he matches Tavares. Other deals will be the same
