TBL - Not interested in Panarin at that price when our window is wide open and could pick him up next year. Not to mention we don't have the cap space as you are not doing us any favors. Pick up Callahan and maybe we can talk. Not sure if he would be interested in playing for Torts again.

That's true, I didn't think of cape space.. but if you look at TDL deal in the last 3 years, Panarin will easily get CBS a first and 2 good prospects or one first, a second and a good prospect.

I like how all the Tampa fans are so, we won't pay that for player X cause we'll just get him for free next offseason.

And in the same breathe they comment on having NO cap space for the trade to work .... AND so how do you expect to sign him next year with NO CAP SPACE ??

Calgary would not do that deal, they have no cap space to sign him to extension.

If he wants to come then yes, why mortgage the future when we have young players with a high upside that you want to trade a rental player for. You are basically asking to 2 first round picks for a rental that we wouldn't have space to sign next year with the contracts on the books. So if you want those prospects and pick, you need to take back some cap.

After this year so many contracts are dropping off. Was referring to this year that we don't have cap space.

Worked for TML. I could understand a team such as MTL or CGY overpaying to try to negotiate early, but Lightning are not weak in the majority of the lineup and Panarin won't put them over the top this year.
