Bobrovsky. hinged upon Bob not wanting to sign in Columbus and agreeing to the 8750000 x 7 years with Calgary. I realize that he goes to ufa next summer but I think they need to get to him before he gets to ufa

Bob asked for an 8 year 11.0 deal from Columbus.... I doubt he takes a 7 year 8.75 deal in a new city....

oh ok I didn't know that. if that's his price range Calgary aint touching that with a 10 foot pole. extremely over paid goalies don't help the team as much as top paid superstars and defenseman. I would hate to tbe the team that gives up that much money

I would rather go after “Albertchewan” Holtby next offseason than Bob, but he’s a good target to go after nonetheless

I agree holtby is definitely another strong candidate. I think he's less available then bob though and would probably cost us more in a trade because if Washington can I think there definitely going to sign him

You are right. Bob may be available this season depending how CBJ does. Holtby would be a summer move and only if WSH feels Samsonov is ready and to clear some cap space

I agree. Unless Samsonov significantly outshines him in the next 2 years, Holtby will likely be re-signed by Washington.

What about Varlomov? I think he's underated and he's a UFA next summer. Put up a .920 last season over 51 games. Other than 2016-17 (when everyone on the Avs was crap) he's been a really good starter the past 4 years, (go check his stats) and he's only 30! Staying healthy may be an issue with him though, like Smith

Years ago Brian Skrudland spoke at one of my minor hockey events, he spent some time in eastern AB/western SK and referred to himself as an Albertchewan and it always stuck with me haha

I like the idea of Varlomov but you are right he is just as injury prone as Smith. if we were to get varlomov I think it would be to create a goaltending tandem. resign smith on a year to year basis and give them both about 40 games a season. allows them to stay healthy and rested.

either that or wait and see how riittich/gillies turn out and then we could give them the back up position and let varlomov play 50 games and then rittich or gillies can play 30. I think goalie management for the flames is going to become very important in the next few years
