I was wondering when Savard would gain some interest here! Nice play.

Nice depth signings as well. I think Rick Nash is done though. Unless he pulls a Mike Fisher and comes out of retirement at the deadline to sign with a cup contender.

What about Faulk? Or is that price too high?

Faulk is overrated
Since his all star game présence everybody thinks he’s a pure beast

Savard is really shutdown defenseman who can show some good offensive instincts

Yes he’s pretty good bot sense of the pucks but I think that there is more chance to get Savard than spurgeon because of the roster situation

I remember when Nash signed his big contract and someone mentioned the Leafs he said "I'll only be 34 when this contract is up". I've always liked Rick Nash but he is not the player he once was. Since the Leafs have the cap room to sign him I would say do it but if he wants more than the $3 mil you set out here I would walk away.

As for Savard I don't think you would be able to get a team like Columbus to retain salary like that for 3 years.

Why would Columbus do this trade? they already have young speedy forwards who are trying to make the lineup, why would they trade a top 4 dman for two players that they don't need?

I'd rather see how Carrick does in a top 4 role before shipping him away, I think lots of people will be surprised at his skill level.
