I love the title, I feel the same way. I am not going to be overly critical because I like your premise, the spot I just simply disagree is that THESE Leafs would trade Liljegren for that. Dhalen is an excellent add, and I think Lou would have taken this deal. It is just that really, they do not need more centers, you can always have more, but RD is where they are weakest. Timothy is cost certainty for 2 years, and that is worth a lot. This management also values puck moving a lot more than moving people from the front of the net.

Tanev is good, but he is old, 4.45 is too much for next year's cap, and he gets hurt too much. Again, nothing wrong with your proposal, and if it wasn't Dubas, I think he would take the deal.

But I, much like Kyle, believe that in 3-4 years Timmy is a number 1.

Tanev will be older and Dahlen would have to play left wing and be behind Marleau, Johnsson, Hyman, Brown (who can play the left) a potentional top pairing at your weakest position is not equal value to a guy who may ultimately be on the team, but will be a bottom 6. Good player, but on this team, bottom 6.

Good work, I think you do that same trade with a different team, it is right on!

Vancouver is in what seems like an obvious position. They should be rebuilding and growing their prospect pool. Vancouver has done a really good job scouting. Gaudette, Boeser, Dahlen, Hughes, Demko, Pettersson and Gadjovich look promising. If Benning had the brains to sell and accumulate more picks, they'd have a dynasty in the making.
