lol yeah, no way!

Vilardi is probably their best prospect. No way they give that up.

If anything, it would be Toffoli (younger) for Paches (older but arguably a little better) straight up.

But even then, I don't think LA does this. They're already one of the oldest teams in the league. Don't think they want to get older.

The side who doesn't agree that this is BS says that GV's value has diminished since he has so many back issues, but I think you're right. TT for Patches would be close to a fairer deal, maybe with a little sweetener thrown in. GV - even with back pains - is not a little sweetener.

Vilardi is a great young prospect, but doesn't he have this recurring back issue? I'm pretty sure this current one isn't the first... Maybe LA knew it was time to cash out before everyone else found out his back may be for shite... One way you could the narrative being true.

If not though, yeah, no reason to trade Vilardi for Patches. That would be something Lombardi would've done, not Blake.

the kings never made that offer. two things. it could click bait OR habs management put this crap out so they look like the good manager fans will think the habs made a good hockey deal, and they can blame Max for not closing the deal when he didn't sign an extension.

I have heard that it was Anderson Doloan, Muzzin and 1st, then I heard it was Toffoli and a second and now its Vilardi and Toffoli.

I think it has varied depending on if the extension was there and LA's need before Kovy signed on.

Its also kind of interesting that this is coming out all of a sudden when people are now talking about Vilardi possibly missing the start of this season because of his back issues, that's 2 years in a row now.

if the Kings were as positive of Vilardi they wouldnt have drafted so many centers last draft, Kupari and Thomas might make Vilardi more expendable then you think.

Habs brass is traditionally very quiet about this stuff. I think it's clickbait.
I also think that if it really happened than it would have leaked in LA too and so far no one has suggested that this has made the rounds in LA.

Yeah, that's the reasoning behind people saying Vilardi is available - no one is sure of his back, so the other Cs made him expendable.

The french media in Montreal is by far the worst in North America. They have an inferiority complex that gets them to hype up any piece of information more than is needed in order to feel as or more relevant than mainstream (English but not necessarily from Montreal) media.

THIS.

This is one of the major reasons why Montreal is not an attractive place for many UFA's. When they say the "Montreal media and pressure", they mean this.

Absolutely, 100%, beyond a shadow of a doubt, correct.
