The CBA is going to expire. I think one of the main sticking points is going to be UFA age. 27 is a long long long time. It might seem like 5 years for a player straight out the NCAA isn't bad. But if you come into the league as an 18 year old, it's 9 years. So I think you are going to see some changes in the RFA age and rules. Especially since the older players are being weeded out the league.
I think that is going to cause some players to get signed to longer term deals earlier.
