Or

6 years at 8.25% Cap hit

Mostly used Kucherov & Pastrnak as comps. I'm thinking the deal will look something like one of these. I prefer longer term.

Kapanen eventually moves up past Brown ("Tie goes to the veteran").

Leivo gets ice-time or gets traded for pucks.

Oviganov fights with Carrick, Holl, Borgman, Rosen & Marincin for ice.

Grundstrom is 4LW late in the year/playoffs

unless players are getting the money they think they are worth they have no reason to sign a long term deal. They need only to wait till that CBA hits. Players are gonna fight for that age lowered. The owners want to keep the escro, players hate it. But I don't see it changing because if it's not a 50/50 split the owners don't want to be on the short end. The Olympics isn't a bargaining chip of much value. That leaves the RFA age to make things right.

IMO that's really close. Maybe even s shorter term for Willie. Leivo, maybe there is finally a injury on wing (or a holdout) and he gets a chance to play and as you suggest Grundstrom
